“Gratitude is when memory is stored in the heart and not in the mind.” Lionel Hampton

Maybe the simplest and most effortless habit for living a happier life is to take one or a few minutes every day to focus on what is already here and that you can be grateful for in your life.
It can help you to…
Lift your mood and boost motivation very quickly.
Find the things in your life that you want to focus even more of your time and energy on.
Not just take things for granted and to find joy even during the tougher times.
It is simply a great habit to cultivate that demands little but gives much back.
So this week I’d like to explore 5 small tips that you can use to cultivate more gratitude and happiness in your life.
“You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.” Buddha
“People throw away what they could have by insisting on perfection, which they cannot have, and looking for it where they will never find it.” Edith Schaeffer
One common way to get things done, to achieve and to motivate yourself is to be kind of hard on yourself.
To set very high standards for yourself that you want to stick to every time.
Now, this way of going about things can indeed help you to accomplish big things in your life and to get things done every week.
“Then followed that beautiful season… Summer… Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light; and the landscape lay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood.” Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
“The time to relax is when you don’t have time for it.” Sydney J. Harris
The summer is here.
And for many of us it’s a time of vacations, a time of being free from school or a slow time at work or in your business.
So it’s a good time to focus on taking extra good care of yourself to unwind, decompress and to recharge.
“Three things in human life are important: the first is to be kind; the second is to be kind; and the third is to be kind.” Henry James
“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.” Maria Robinson
To be kind to yourself in everyday life is in in my experience one of the best things you can do for yourself.
Life will become lighter and your relationships will most likely improve.
You will feel happier overall. And your self-esteem and your sense of deserving good things in life will go up. It’s one of my absolute favorite topics and one that I have created my most popular program around in The Self-Esteem Course.
But it is also one thing that is often neglected or something some may feel guilty about doing.
To make a positive change with that simply start a new habit today. One of kindness and love towards yourself. You can find 10 of my favorites among such habits in this article.
