Enjoyed this list, Henrik! Perhaps my favorite is #12. Thankfully, I’ve learned to worry a lot less over the years, though I know several people whose lives are very negatively affected by this wasted emotion/energy. Perhaps I’ll forward the wisdom for them to give it some thought.

The quote by Winston Churchill speaking of the old man on the deathbed really hit home for me.

    Worry is suffering in advance

  • My all time fav and one I remind myself and clients of when I find myself slipping into that useless practice.“Worry is like a rocking chair: it gives you something to do but never gets you anywhere”
    – Erma Bombeck

Totally agree, this one is spot on!

Worry kills. An unnecessary habit, silent addiction. Mental weakness.

    Don’t worry. It won’t help. ;^)
    – Jim Carrey

I heard this on another blog. Sorry don’t want to be a name dropper, I’m not even sure I can use the quote, but it has helped me so much and was posted publicly for all to see, here goes: “Worry is not preparation, and anxiety does not make you better.” These words are so comforting to me.

I did love the 25 here too. Especially I like no. 6

  • Good collection. Thanks for sharing Henrik.

It is true. Every one should bear in mind when worry comes in. It gives boost against worry. No doubt. We stand and fight with vigour. Very nice to read.
I am always keep in mind this positive thinking.

  • annoynimous

worrying is like thinking about what would happen and ultimately let it happen as only effort could change the situation worrying wont.

  • The first and second quotes are awesome……thanks for the quotes and for the reminder of the effects worrying can have. It is such a waste of energy….energy that can be utilized in a more positive and constructive way.

  • Life is too short to worry about things that do not matter at the end of the day.

  • I love every single one of these. I still live by Matthew 6 in the Bible where it says “why worry about tomorrow? Today has enough trouble of its own”. This after the assurance that God will provide all we need to eat, wear, and function in this life :)

#20 is the one I pick, try everyday to be in the momen.
