53 Inspiring Self-Esteem and Self-Love Quotes

Self-Esteem QuotesSome things may be equally essential but nothing is more important than a healthy sense of self-esteem and loving yourself.

Why?

In my experience, three of the most important reasons are:

  • Life becomes simpler and lighter. When you love yourself more then things simply become lighter and easier. You won’t make as many mountains out of molehills (or out of plain air) as you used to. Or beat yourself up or drag yourself down over mistakes or temporary setbacks.
  • You’ll have more inner stability and self-sabotage less. When your opinion of yourself goes up then you’ll stop trying to get so much validation and attention from other people. You become less needy and find an inner stability even when your world might be negative or uncertain at times.
The increasing self-esteem and self-love also makes you feel more deserving of good things in life and so you’ll self-sabotage less and go after what you deep down want with more motivation and focus than ever before.
  • You’ll be happier. The main reason why value my self-esteem so highly, why I write about this topic so often and have created a whole 12-week course around it is simply because it has made my own life so much happier and more fun.

But instead of sharing my own thoughts and experiences like I usually do I’d like to take a different approach today.

I’d like to share 53 of the most inspiring, thought provoking and uplifting thoughts from the past 2400 years on getting to know yourself, raising your self-esteem and finding a self-love.

very inspirational quotes… loved all of them.. one of my favourite is ” Don’t rely on someone else for your happiness and self-worth. Only you can be responsible for that. If you can’t love and respect yourself – no one else will be able to make that happen. Accept who you are – completely; the good and the bad – and make changes as YOU see fit – not because you think someone else wants you to be different.”

  • I love number 39, the Wayne Dyer quote. For me, this is the foundation on which personal development is constructed. A wonderful, inspiring list. Thanks!

  • Awesome list of quotes that will boost your self-esteem. 🙂 I actually love this one…

“To establish true self-esteem we must concentrate on our successes and forget about the failures and the negatives in our lives.”
    – Denis Waitley

We’ve made mistakes in the past, but don’t let those mistakes to hinder your self-growth and character development.

  • Low self esteem can leave us afraid to try new things because we fear that we will fail. However, the challenge of self esteem building is to embrace new things and to give yourself the opportunity to enjoy them, just because you deserve it. Taking up a new hobby can be a fantastic step towards overcoming low self esteem. Spending time with like minded people and enjoying an activity purely for fun, with no pressure, is a good way to feel better about yourself; you may even discover a hidden talent into the bargain!

  • Great ! it was very motivating , after reading this, it made me feel more inspired, we really have to fight some of the bad days to experience the best days of our life. Stay happy and enjoy life.

Great quotes. I am bookmarking this page as I take a daily quote to work to get people started!

  • What we have to realize is that our low self-esteem is not genetic. Also we must realise that we should not be reliant on others to increase our self-confidence.

  • We often look to other people to see how we should feel about ourselves. For instance, if you say, “hi” to strangers on the way to work and they don’t respond, your mood will begin to change. We think, hey I said, “hello” and they didn’t notice, what am I invisible? Slowly, you begin to feel invisible because we are constantly looking to outside stimuli to inform us on how we should feel about ourselves. Are mood shouldn’t so easily hinge on the reactions of others, rather we should remain fixed in our attitude.

This is exactly the track I’ve been on for about a year. I’m working on personal development and it’s very healthy!! Thank you for this site to allow myself to feel validated!

I love your page. Agree about your comments on self-esteem and self sabotage. There are too many favorite quotes to list but here are some great John Lennon quotes I like:

Quotes really inspire me. Thank you for this post!

  • Loved all your inspiring quotes. I particularly loved the last one which talked about it never being too late to be what you want to be. Yes we need to value and believe in ourselves to do wonders in this world. No matter how old we are we can accomplish anything we set our mind to.
