3 keys to success

(1) Keep up hard work (atleast 14 hours a day)
(2) Never expect anything. Don't even expect a good result of work, just keep working with faith.
(3) Use a lot of common sense

I live in the city with many Dale Carnegie libraries and such. This article remind me of two reasons why most people still do not experience the success they need - they are relying on others to provide them with motivation and/or they spread themselves too thin.

Motivate yourself! I like this. As a corporate trainer, often I am asked how do you motivate teams of people? Even if they rave and applaud the seminar, only the ones who actually apply what they learned will actually reap the benefits. Sometimes a student asks, "What can I expect to walk away with?" I want to say, "Whatever you take with you!" And that is up to that person. There is no magic box you can put an employee in and make them the super skilled person you need for the job. That person with incentive or none will determine whether they will move or be moved.

related to # 4 ... reminds me of something I told my 13 yr old the other day...The challenge of completing a project or task is getting motivated to begin with the objective, but once you have begun, performing the task is not as bad as once thought. Great Post! Thanks!

Hi, Gaylena, I really like your response on this article. Made me think about the importance of persistance and just never giving up while eliminating the other stuff that gets in the way. Good for you on being self motivated...although it's nice to read inspirational messages like this one.

I like all of these Tips alot. I somehow keep forgetting them over time or when unexpected setbacks occur. The comments from the readers are right on too! My biggest challenge is the accumulation of stuff over all these years...and how to free myself of all but what is only the most needed, most necessary, most beautiful, most inspiring and most useful. Talk about doing one thing at a time...clearing out all the paperwork and noise is like going through a huge bunch of inbaskets...some things need filing, some things need tossing, some things need action but mostly it's still one thing at a time, no matter how big it seems.

Andrew Carnegie was a true Metaphysician. I have "Think and Grow Rich" on CD, it is in CD Stacker in my car. I have read the book and refer to it often. Thank you for for posting these tips.

Great tips and I have to say from experience that if it's not fun it doesn't mean that it can't be it just usually means that your over thinking it.

That in itself isn't fun so you have to break it down into little pieces to see where you're going wrong with it.

As for motivation and self motivation I have plenty of that, I motivate myself simply because others can bring you down, so it's much better to be self motivated.

I'm always persistent and never give up on anything I want. However I have spread myself way too thin before and the best thing to do for this is to make a plan and figure out what you know you need the most and cut out of the extra background noise.
