Henrik,

The part you wrote about "success is today too" is extremely important to remember. I am a goal-focused hard working guy, but the downside is that I'm always working towards the next big goal and not enjoying the moment.

We really can only experience the present. Goal setting and working toward something is important...but like you said, we should enjoy "today".

Amazing post...one of the best I've read from you,

Nice to find a blog with a postive outlook and message. I was starting to feel lonely!

Well thought out piece. I believe people just need to take some time to think. To actually sit down and put some thought into what it is they want and what they need to do to achieve it. If every decision, action and even emotion is aimed at those goals then everyday can be a success and a step forward.

Mindless drifting will never lead to success or happiness. Thoughtful action and focus are the tools, along with inspiration and support, such as you offer here.

Keep up the great work. You have a fan!

I saw Bob Dylan two summers ago and he isn't so good anymore. I asked my friend why does he still perform? My friend just shrugged. Now I know why. He loves it so much he can't give it up. I hope I feel that way about my career when I'm too old to keep doing it.

I am 100% with Dylan on the idea of doing what you love to do. The question then becomes: what do you love to do? Personally I love to write and I couldn't think of anything else I would rather do, but this isn't the case for everyone. What do you do if you don't know what you love to do?

I think I've mentioned this before, but I love the quotes you include in your posts. :)

One of my all time favorite quotes:

“A person is a success if they get up in the morning and gets to bed at night and in between does what he wants to do.”

Hi Henrik,

Find what you love to do is a classic success principle that I just can't emphasise enough on my own blog. Whenever I mentioned it on my blog, I'd always reiterate that I'd said it umpteen times but I'd keep saying it until people turn blue in their face.

I discovered that principle because I was an extremely lazy person. Funny huh?

The reason was that I was never motivated to do anything except those which I enjoyed like watching tv, sleep, soccer, and hanging out with friends among other things.

But later in life, I started to think that I can't carry on living the way I did. I had to take my life more seriously. So I went on to try out a couple of things. But none got me enthusiastic enough to hang on to.

And I started questioning myself what does it take for me to stick to one thing and excel in it?

I looked into what I'd been doing all the while and found that I'd been pretty good in a few things (though not exactly an expert). And the reason was simply because I enjoyed doing them. So I started to believe that in order for me to stick to one thing and attain success in that field, it's got to be something I enjoy doing a lot. And hence, the journey to discovering my real passion began.

It is my wish to see more people follow their passion and seek to live it in the face of whatever challenges that may come along the way for it is the only way to live a truly fulfilling and empowered life.

Cheers~
