This is a guest article by Dan Bainbridge of www.realsubliminal.com.

Today I’d like to provide you with a quick article as an introduction to subliminal messaging, and how it can help you to think more positively. We are also exclusively giving all positivityblog.com readers a free copy of our Positive Thinking mp3 album, (which normally retails at $11.97 – please see the link below) so that you can try subliminal messaging for yourself, completely risk free.

The concept of subliminal messaging may be completely foreign to you, so we will start with a quick introduction.

What Is Subliminal Messaging?

Simply put, subliminal messaging is the use of either words, images or sounds which have been embedded into any form of media so that you will not be consciously aware of them –

With subliminal audio for example a voice message is played at the edge of your capacity of hearing. The message goes straight into your subconscious mind, where it gets processed and stored without you even being aware of it.

By the 1960s subliminal messages were banned from use within advertising by the US TV agencies and the government due to their effect on people’s buying behavior. However, just like hypnosis you can use subliminal messaging for your own personal development – as long as it is your choice to receive the messages then it is allowed.

But How Does It Work If I Can’t Hear Anything?

As human beings we are just not capable of processing all the information happening around us consciously. To stop us from being overloaded our mind filters out the “background noise”. However, subconsciously you still process everything some level. You can see this for example when you hear your name from across a crowded room – you instantly tune into that conversation. You were not consciously following the conversation, but your subconscious mind was, and this is why you were able to tune in.

Subliminal messaging works in the same way; just because you can not consciously hear anything you will still experience the benefit – your subconscious mind is constantly processing all sorts of information on the edge of your consciousness.

Subliminal Messaging Myths

There are a lot of misconceptions about subliminal messages; what they can and can’t do for you. People ask us if they are really effortless; if they will listen once and instantly lose all negative thoughts, and we also get a lot of people worried about whether a subliminal CD will lead them to commit negative acts.

Firstly, I need to expel the myth that subliminal messaging can instantly and effortlessly help you reach your goals or become more positive. This is simply NOT TRUE. People often want instant results; with our positivity album people want to be instantly happy, and forget all of their worries… While this may happen for a small percentage of people – we are all made differently and people do experience subliminal messaging in different ways, but this is not the case for the majority. As with the rest of life; there is no magic pill or instant cure, things take time and effort.

As for subliminal CDs influencing you towards negative acts, well this is simply not possible – for a couple of reasons:

Firstly, the messages we use in our albums are purely positive statements, and would never do any harm to you or influence you to do any negative acts. We want people to experience the benefits of subliminal messaging and come back and try another album – if you are getting into all sorts of negative situations after listening it is unlikely you will come back.

Secondly, even if negative suggestions were included they wouldn’t do any good. Just like hypnosis you are ultimately still in control. You can not be subliminally persuaded to do anything you don’t want to.

If you play our positivity album to someone who has no interest in it, or in some ways enjoys or feeds off their own negativity then it will not help them. If however, you are making an effort to think more positively and want a boost then subliminal messaging may be right for you. Essentially it will align your subconscious mind with your conscious efforts of positivity – it will help you to stay on track, boost your willpower, keep you motivated, and try and help you to see the positive side of any situation.

What do I need to do?

There is no magic formula, in fact there are several ways to use subliminal messaging – generally we recommend that you listen to the album once per day in a relaxed state of mind. However, you can also listen while you work , study, or exercise (many people prefer this method, and leave the album on repeat), or even listen while you sleep.

Everyone is different, some see results after just one or 2 sessions, but most experience some benefit within a couple of weeks.

Interesting post Dan, and nice site BTW.

The brain is a pretty amazing thing – your example of hearing your name across the room is spot on. The effect of subliminal advertising (that as you point out is banned) is a bit over rated – but with repeated exposure and a receptive attitude it can have a measurable effect.

As evidenced by you cd/mp3. Best of luck!

Interesting Henrik

I’m looking forward to try this audio.

I already have two other audios similar to yours.

Great addition to your website.

This is SO WEIRD. I’ve been listening to a couple of Anthony Robbins’ subliminal CDs and I wanted to find out how effective they were and how they operated – I didn’t hear anything, but I felt good when they were playing!!! I just never got around to finding out how they operated (procrastination). Thanks for this post!!!

Cool Post. I have two of Stuart Wilde’s subliminal CDs. I listed to them every night for a week or two, I don’t think I listed long enough for them to work. I heard that you have to at least listen to it for 30 days straight before it takes affect…not sure if that’s true. They do have listed on the case what the subliminal messages are, this post just reminded me about them, I think I’ll give it a go again. Great post!

Thanks for your comment JDH,
Generally we say you have to listen for aprox 2 weeks to get a decent benefit, but it is hard to say – some people experience results much sooner, sometimes instantly – we are all built slightly differently – and it also depends on the type of album, and the “seriousness” of the issue.
Hope that helps! We’d love to hear about your experiences!
