Forgiveness is one of the greatest cures for everything. I had to spend a few years working on forgiving someone, the one big thing I learned to support your fact about the future, is if you don’t forgive, your past will taint your future. Forgive and let go that is my motto, cause if you don’t the only person you hurt is yourself.

Good one,

Thanks for your information.
It has helped me a lot. I never really knew how important forgiveness really was, especially forgiving myself. I'm in the process of learning to let go off past hurts, and apologize and ask for forgiveness for what i did wrong and try to make peace with others. I like #2 which speaks about the way you feel and think about others, is the same way you feel and think about yourself, and if you are critical of others, it means that you are critical of yourself. That reaches me deep down. I realize that i was very defensive, very critical and very judgemental. I have found myself and now i'm feeling this gentle inner peace towards this person. After letting go, I realized that she is a very nice person and i grow to like and admire this person very much. What she teaches was right, but i was so filled with anger to notice. She has thought me a lot. I'm still in the process of resolving the issues, but i believe things will work out.
I'ml encouraging others out there, to find it in your hearts to forgive and let go. Half the times these same people who we think have hurt us don't even know.
Love is important and when we give in to any other feelings, they just creep in and rob us of our JOY.

I never understood the word FORGIVENESS. It always brought forth an uncontrollable rage deep inside of me. One day I stummbled onto forgiveness and actually found myself forgiving my abuser. My life changed after that day. I was no longer a victim! I no longer lived in fear! I was free from my abuse. There was no longer a cycle of abuse to pass on to my children. My forgiveness ended abuse with my generation. Forgiveness is Freedom. Abuse will hold you as a victim until you find a way to forgive. FORGIVENESS IS NEVER ABOUT YOUR ABUSER. Forgiveness gives the abuse back to your abuser.

Another great topic and article by Mr. Edberg.
I particularly like how you mentioned that we can free others that we forgive 'from being trapped in the past' as well.
Finally, many of our problems are due to lack of communication and misunderstanding. We may feel that we need to forgive someone for something, and when we finally address the person, we may discover that we were mistaken (Oh! That was John who said that, not me!).

Nice post! A well compiled 6 thoughts. I have always had difficulty forgiving myself or others. Slowly I am learning to let go. Point #2 and #4 are really important.

Thanks for the post!

Keep up the good work!

This post is very touching. It reminded me about how far I've gone and all the hurts I was able to leave behind. Number 3 is so true. Many of the people who have hurt us are the people really close to us - brothers, sisters, mothers, and fathers. It's all best to let go and move on.

Thanks for this post and God bless.
