Do You Want to Be a Guestblogger?

Do You Want to Be a Guestblogger?Update July 2009: To be able to focus better on my own writing I have stopped accepting guest posts. I may however change my mind again and open up to guest bloggers sometime later on.

Hello!

I am now accepting guestposts.

This is to some extent to relieve a bit of pressure on me to generate ideas and posts.

But it is more importantly a way to get fresh new voices and ideas in here to help improve this website with even more value and variety.

Now, why would you want to write for the Positivity Blog?

Well, here are two awesome reasons:

  1. You can help people improve their lives. You can inspire them and you can share valuable lessons and tips.

  1. You’ll get some nice exposure and new readers. This blog has over 5600 daily subscribers via email and RSS. And about 100 000 visitors per month. By writing for The Positivity Blog your ideas can get exposure to several thousands of readers. And since you get one link back to your blog at the beginning of the post and a short bio with two more links at the end of the post this can send you quite a bit of new readers.

A few requirement and things to keep in mind.

Yeah, nothing much new here if you have written guestposts before. The post must be:

  • Original and Unique. It must be something original you have written and are holding the copyright for. The post must something you wrote uniquely for the Positivity Blog. It will only be published on this blog and not on any other sites (that includes your blog). You will still hold the copyright for your post.

  • Practical and Relevant. Well, it’s at least got to be relevant to the personal development niche. And I truly appreciate – and I’m sure the readers do to – practical advice within the post on how we can improve our lives. That provides more value to the readers and will probably result in more fans of your writing and blog compared to a fluffier piece. People love really useful information.

  • The post must be somewhere between 800-1500 words. Exceptions can of course be made.

  • No affiliate links are allowed.

  • I’ll add images when appropriate. But if you have already found an great image online that is ok to use copyright-wise then feel free to include that link in your email.

  • If you have a topic or idea that you feel have been lacking on this blog – health, career and money comes to mind :) – then I’m sure both I and the rest of the readers would be extra appreciative.
  • I reserve the right to edit your post in a way that I see fit before publishing. Or reject submissions that I feel aren’t appropriate for this website.
  • Please add a short biography of yourself at the end of your article like the one in this post.

Lastly, a few tips to help you get more out of this experience:

  • Easy subscription. Be sure to have very visible options to subscribe both via email and RSS on your blog. This can help you gain more loyal readers after they’ve clicked one of your links in the guestpost.

  • Show off your best stuff. Consider adding links to one or two of your best posts at the end of your guestpost. Or add a link directly to your RSS-feed. Those things can also help you to get more fans.
  • Be patient. I publish one guest post per week, on Mondays or Tuesdays. I usually have a few guest posts saved that will be published before yours. So it may be somewhere from 4-7 weeks before your post is published.

You can send your submissions or any questions you might have to henrik@positivityblog.com.

Hey, awesome post! I’ve been considering this lately (both doing it and allowing it to be done on my blog once I get a bigger reader-base) And it seems like a great idea. We can keep in touch, maybe I could write for you a few times?
Thanks!
Charlie

Hi Henrik,
Love your site. A friend (fellow blogger) forwarded the link to me. Have a look at my site if you will, and candidly tell me if there is anything there that might add to the wealth of information you already have.
