Inspired by my own article yesterday I decided to get going with my redesign of the blog.
I’ve been thinking about doing a few adjustments to the design for quite a while.
When I started blogging I did some research and gathered that the K2 theme for WordPress was easy to use.
So I grabbed that one and haven’t really done much more design-wise since then.
Mainly I’ve felt for some time that the blog needed to be a bit wider and contain more space to put things in. I also wanted the design to feel more open. The old one felt a little cramped sometimes.
So I reverted to how I used to do websites about popgroups like New Order. This was back in 1999 or something like that. Before anyone did much blogging. Back then I used to take inspiration from design magazines and newspapers rather than other popular sites. I liked a lot of white space and a few thin and dotted lines to separate the clean design. So that’s what I gone for this time too as I’ve readjusted John Tp´s excellent theme TripleK2 to my own needs.
I’ll tinker with design from time to time during the next few weeks and probably add a few new things. Let me know what you think about the new theme in the comments. And if you find a problem please let me know in the comments or via email.

Nice new theme. Very clean and easy, quite organice. Well done!
Better get the new K2, it got triple column build in if you want…
Phil: Thanks a lot.
Mitch: Thanks for the tip. But from what I´ve heard the new K2 only has triple columns with two sidebars on the right side. I prefer a sidebar on each side.
I love the design.. Very clean and easy to read!
Thank you for so many amazing posts!
Re the new layout – definitely cleaner, but the ads feel like they are taking almost as much space as the content?
